HUGE NATIONAL PLAN. ANTI-AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT. INADEQUATE AT PRESENT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 4, 9.0 a.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 3. The War Department has perfected a thirty-three million dollar plan to encircle the United States with antiaircraft defences to be presented to the next session of Congress. It calls for tke newest equipment in anti-aircraft guns, searchlights, and fire control, for eight regular army regiments, seven National Guard regiments, and nineteen inactive regular army regiments. Recent studies by experts disclosed that the present anti-aircraft defences are inadequate.
