ATHLETES’ SECRET?
LOW BLOOD PRESSURE. LONDON, Aug. 3. “Is this the secret of his recordbreaking?” askes the Daily Mail, referring to a statement by Dr Adolphe Abrahams that the Australian cyclist, H. Opperman’s, blood pressure is the lowest lie has ever known in a healthy athlete.
Dr Abrahams is doctor to the British Olympians and brother of the former sprint champion. He says that lie has found during a lifelong study, that all great athletes possess a very slow pulse rate when at rest and low blood pressure.
