DOCUMENTS LOST.

BELONGING TO ADMIRALTY. RECOVERY AFTER SEARCH. Reoeived August 4, 11.5 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 3. Highly important Admiralty documents relating to the trials of new guns and ships disappeared from a train en route from Waterloo to Portsmouth. The papers were in a box in the guard’s van and were in the custody of an Admiralty messenger accompanied by a superintendent and overseer.

A later message states that a widespread search resulted iq the recovery of the documents which, owing to the accidental detachment of the address label, were returned to the place of origin.
