GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S SERVICES
PRESENTATION PROPOSED. Holding that it would be a graceful action to show some tangible recognition of the good work of His Excellency the Governor-General, Mr J. T. Kent, of Waikanae, moved at the meeting of the Manawatu provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, to-day, that the Dominion executive be requested to present to His Excellency an mated address, or gome other suitable form of appreciation and goodwill prior to his departure for England at the qnd of his term of office. The opinion was expressed by Mr L. H. Best that the wise counsel given the country by Lord Bledisloe in times of difficulty and tribulation had been of valuable guidance to tlie people. Mr J. D. Avery said the farmers should express their appreciation through the Dominion executive. The president (Mr J. A. McLeavey) added his tribute, stating that His Excellency had given the farmers splendid assistance by his advice and sympathetic appreciation of their problems. The motion was carried unanimously.
