TAONUI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) . TAONUI, Aug. 4. At a meeting of the school committee held during the week those present were: Messrs McFarland (chairman), Osborne, and Marston, Mcsdamcs McFarland Cochrane and Miss Curtis (head teacher). The usual business was dealt with and a few small accounts passed for payment. After a discussion it was decided to hold tho children’s fancy dress ball next Thursday. An advertisement will later appear in tho ‘StP'tiard.” It was decided that tho paronts be asked to supply the supper. Tho early part of the evening will bo devoted to the children’s programme, after which tho adults will have the floor. Tho euchre and dance held last evening was, as usual, well attended. Tho ladies’ prize was won by Miss F. Price, while Mr Fait won the men’s. Tho dance music was played by Messrs Hodgctts and Ferguson, whilo Mrs Grant supplied extras. It was decided to hold two more evenings, when the aggregate prize winners will bo ascertained.
