FEILDING BRANCH MEETING,

The monthly meeting of the bedding branch of the Women’s Division of the banners’ Union was held in the club rooms yesterday afternoon, Mrs Prouse, vice-president, presiding in the absence of the president, Mrs L. J. Wild, through indisposition. An excellent number of members were present.

A motion of sympathy in her recent bereavement was passed to Mrs R. W. Brown. It was decided to send letters of sympathy to Mrs Watson and Mrs Simpson in the illness of their sons.

The date of the birthday party was fixed for Friday, September 21, when it was hoped that Mrs Barrel- would be able to be present to speak about the Pan-Pacific Conference.

Mrs McDowall gave a report on the club rooms.

Members agreed to dispose of £2 worth of small articles suitable for Christmas and New Year gifts made by disabled soldiers in Wellington. It was reported that last month members held a combined meeting with the barmers’ Union at Halcombe and formed there a new branch of the

W.D.b.U. with Mrs Aynsley as president. Similar combined meetings are to be held during August at Waituna, Ivimbolton and Kiwitea. Members were reminded about Book Day in September, when books are wanted for the Book Club in Wanganui.

The provincial meeting is to be held in Marton in October, and several remits to be sent in by the local branch were discussed. It was decided to donate 10s towards the expenses of Mrs Barrel- in attending the Pan-Pacific Conference.

Mrs Colquhoun gave a splendid report of the Dominion conierence to which she was a local delegate.
