PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, June 2. About ten local business people recently made representations to the Prime Minister, by letter, for the No. 10 building scheme to be reinstated to relieve in the erection of premises damaged by earthquake. In his reply the Prime Minister says:—“l have gone into the matter with, the Minister of Employment and am now advised by him that the Unemployment Board has given very careful consideration to the representations submitted but regrets that it is- not able to comply with your wishes.” The May returns for the Pahiatua Dental Clinic, submitted by Nurse J. Hunter, show that there were 62 operations to permanent teeth, npd 209 to deciduous teeth. Revision completions totalled 48 and liew.cntrnnt completions were 10. i Miss D. Bingham, Dannevirko. is the guest of Mr and Mrs E. Scnndrett. Miss D. Junker has motored to Carterton to spend the week-end with relatives. Air and Mrs M. A. Robertson and Sisters Dilnot ‘ Smith and Baizlov have motored to Tongariro for the week-end. Airs E. L. Harvey, of Alangatainoka, was called to Auckland last night where her sister, Airs J. Ale Skimming, is gravely ill.
