GANGSTERS’ DEATHS.
POLICE TRAP SUCCEEDS. NEW YORK, May 23. Clyde Ba.rrow, who was considered the South-West’s chief outlaw, and his cigar-smoking gunwoman companion, Bonnio Parker, were shot dead by Texas officers while speeding at 85 miles ail hour in a motor car.
The pair were wanted for more than a dozen murders, several kidnappings, and numerous bank robberies. They fell into a trap laid by the police in St. Paul, and were riddled with machine-gun bullets. DILLINGER’S AIDES. SENTENCE IMPOSED. NEW YORK, May 23. A Minnesota message -states that Evelyn Frechette, a woman companion of the notorious bandit Dillinger, and Dr. Clayton May, a. Minneapolis physician, were convicted of harbouring Dillinger. Each were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and a fine of 1000 dollars. Dr. May admitted treating Dillinger’s wounds.
