LOSES CONTROL OF NEWSPAPER. M. Francois Coty has lost control of the century-old newspaper Le Figaro. Beginning liis career by hawking scent from door to door, Coty amassed such a fortune in scent-making that he is reputed to have received £10,000,000 from an American company for a hallshare in 1928. As part of a divorce settlement, totalling £3,400,000, Coty’s wife received a block of shares in Le lignio. She systematically bought up all the other shares available until she obtained control of the paper, and is now planning an extensive reorganisation. She is now married to a young Roumanian.
