BANK’S LARGE CLAIM.

ACTION AGAINST INVESTOR, SYDNEY, April 19. An action has been commenced in the Supreme Court at Sydney by the Bank of New Zealand against John Wren, of Melbourne, investor, in which the bank claims £15,225 in respect of a guarantee. The bank alleges that money was advanced to A. C. Cooks. Limited, on Wren’s guarantee, and that the whole sum, plus interest, is now due, and has not been paid. Wren denies the effect of the guarantee, and contends that the bank, without his consent, advanced to A. C. Cook, Limited, an amount in excess of the sum originally stipulated, which is the subject of a cross-action. The suit is part heard.
