RIVER TRUST SCHEME

CHRISTCHURCH, 'April 19, One hundred relief workers are g iv ' en steady employment by the v\ ainiakariri River Trust for six months under a scheme suggested by the Unemployment Board. They will be selected from men at present employed by the trust under the No. oa scheme and will receive five days’ work a week. The rates of pay are not disclosed, since the Unemployment Board desires certain details of the scheme to remain confidential in the meantime.
