The tonnage under construction in the leading foreign countries was as follows: — Japan 122,590 France 103,188 Germany 82,650 Holland ... 51,315 Denmark 51,140 Italy 47,670 Sweden 47,340 Spain 34,480 United States 27,334 The world tonnage of motor ships is 588,589 and of oil tankers 248,578.
