(From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAKARONGO, AprU 16. At the Taonui Club’s courts on Saturday the Taonui tennis A team played the TVhakarongo team, the latter being successful. Following are the results, the homo team’s names being mentioned first: —Ladies’ singles: Miss Benge lost to Miss Vautier, 5—7; Miss Heard lost to Miss M. Vautier, I—7;1 —7; Miss Chethem lost to Miss O’Brien, 1- —7. Men’s singles: Tait beat S. Oxenharn, 7—3; Waugh beat P. Koehler, 7—4. Ladies’ doubles: Misses Heard and Benge lest to Mrs Oxenharn and Miss M. Vautier, 4—7; Misses O’Donnell and Chethem lost to Misses Vautier and O’Brien, 2—7. Men’s-doubles: Tait and TVaugh beat L. Little and R. Gibbs, 7—6. Mixed doubles: Miss Benge and Tait lost to Mis 3 Vautier and L. Little, 5—7; Miss Heard and Tait lost to Miss M. Vautier and S. Oxenharn, 6—7; Mis 3 O’Donnell and Marriot beat Mrs Oxenharn and R. Gibbs, 7—2; Miss Chethem and TVaugh lost to P. Koehler and Miss O’Brien, 5—7. Total games: Taonui 57, 4 sets; TVhakarongo, 71, 8 sets. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies.
