ANTARCTIC VIGIL.
ADMIRAL BYRD’S ASSURANCE. LITTLE AMERICA, April 15. In the broadcast from the Little America party to England Rear-Ad-miral Byrd sent a brief message: “The perils or my isolation are greatly exaggerated. Tranquillity is a pearl of great price.” Other members of the expedition broadcast a description of the scientific observations under way. The long winter night, is rapidly approaching. On Saturday the sun lose at 11.11 a.m. and set at 2.25 p.m. The temperature dropped to 45 degrees below zero. The work of transporting food to the main camp is continuing but it is almost completed.
