TIBET’S LATE RULER.
SERVANT MEETS DEATH. CALCUTTA, April 15. Seven Tibetan lannis have arrived at Calcutta from Nanking. They are proceeding to Tibet to offer prayers at three Targe monasteries and to distribute money on behalf of the_ Chinese Government in connection with the ceremonies for the late Dalai Lama. It lias ben disclosed that Kunphal, the confidential servant of the Dalai Lama, met a terrible death for concealing his master’s illness and preventing the pontiff’s relations and high dignitaries gaining access to the Dalai’s apartment. Kuupb&l was executed., being sewn in a sack and thrown into a river.
