ADDITIONAL GROUND

FOR RUSSELL STREET SCHOOL. Stating that unavailing representations had been made to the Wanganui Education Board for the acquisition of an additional area at the back of the school as a playground, Mr J. A. Grant moved the following resolution at the annual meeting of the Russell Street School househoulders last evening:— “That this meeting desires to express its dissatisfaction with the reply of the board to the committee’s application for additional land, and wishes to affirm that provision for extension of the school playing area should bo made now, as land prices are low, and the necessary area is available. These conditions may not be present when the economic position improves.” _Mr F. T. Vasey seconded the mo-' tiou, which was carried.
