TAKARO PING PONG CLUB.
PREPARATIONS FOR NEW SEASON. The annual meeting .of the Takaro Ping Pong Club was held last night, when Mr L. Cooksley presided over a good attendance of members, while several newcomers were welcomed. The report showed that the club had entered two teams in the Manawatu Ping Pong Association’s competitions and had enjoyed a moderate measure of success ; further, that the finances of the club were quite sound, the year having closed with a credit balance of £4 ss. The election of officers for the incoming season resulted: —Chairman, Mr J. Christie; secretary, Mr R. Tapp; club captain, Mr L. Cooksley; vice-captain, Mr A. Bovis; committee, Mrs Hoald. Misses Spelman and King and Mr J. Durham; delegates to the Manawatu Association, Messrs Christie and Cooksley. It was decided to again enter A and B teams in the association’s competitions. club nights being set down for Mondays and Thursdays. Th© subscriptions were nxou on tn© same basis as last year, several new members being elected. At the conclusion of tlio business before the meeting friendly contests were entered upon, it having been decided to enter upon practice play immediately.
