INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE.

SUGAR INDUSTRY ASPECTS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 4. The Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Minister of Agriculture have appointed a committee with the following terms of reference: “To inquire into the condition of the sugar industry in the United Kingdom, including both home-grown beet sugar and imported sugar, and covering production, refining and distribution, and having in mind changes in the structure of the industry which would follow upon its reorganisation under agricultural marketing Acts, and to make recommendations for the structure, conduct, and, in particular, as to the application of State aid in so far as this may be considered necessary.” The committee consists of Mr Wilfred Greene, K.C., chairman, Sir Kenneth Lee, and Mr Cyril Lloyd.,
