AUCKLAND MARKETS. AUCKLAND, March 13. Business in the grain and produce markets has been fairly steady since last report, and merchants report a satisfactory turnover. As from to-day bran is being quoted cheaper by 10s a ton, the new mill price being £5 10s a ton, with merchants charging 5s more for through store deliveries. The phenomenal pasture growth has interfered with the demand for bran, and with Australia quoting particularly low rates just now millers have found it necessary to meet the market with a lower rate. Pollard sells freely at date rates, with the local mills as well as the South Island and Australia all getting a share of tho business.

Wheat is still selling at 4s 9d a bushel, and seems likely to hold at about this figure. Stocks of maize in Gisborne are plentiful, but in tho Bay of Plenty supplies are rapidly petering out, It would appear that those requiring such lines for direct railing will have to pay somewhere about 4s per bushel on rail. Oats are unchanged at 3s 3d a bushel for B Cartons, and oat sheaf chaff is selling still at £7 10s to £7 15s a, ton. There have boon some offerings of chaff from the Rangitikei district, but most of tho local mrechanls continue to rely upon the South Island for their requirements.

The second crop of potatoes at Pukekoho is now being dug', and fanners are doing thoir best to market it before the South Island crop becomes available in a few weeks' time. As a consequence, prices have eased. Unions aro unchanged at about 7s a cwt, with ample supplies available. OVERSEAS WHEAT MARKETS. NEW YORK, March 12. Chicago wheat futures. —May, 88J cents a bushel; July, 88J cents; September, 89g cents. Now York, cash, 100 cents. LONDON, March 12. Wheat. —Cargoes to.day were better. North American advices induced a steady feeling, Manitoba sellers demanded a slight advance. Australians and River Plates were nominally unchanged. Tarcols were steady. Australians and River Plates were obtainable on easier terms, but buyers wero unresponsive. Futures: London, April, 17s 8d a quarter; Juno, 18s sd; September, 18s lid.
