CHILLED BEEF

SHIPMENT FROM DOMINION. IN SPLENDID CONDITION. HOME TRADERS PLEASED. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received March 13, 11.5 a.m. LONDON, March 12. The Avelona Star’s Now Zealand chilled beef shipment was subm*ted to the Smithfield provincial markets in splendid condition. Traders consider that the last two shipments show that chilled meat can now bo carried from New Zealand equally as well as from Argentina, but they insist that the producers must provide well-bred beef to compete with the Argentine. The Avelona Star’s shipment realised a farthing a pound below that of the Argentine and one penny above the New Zealand frozen beef quotations.
