RAID BY POLICE.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 12. Eight Chinese were arrested by a party of police who raided a twostoreyed house, No 1 Haining Street, this afternoon, and will appear In the Police Court to answer charges relating to smoking opium. Some opium and a quantity of apparatus were seized. Both the outer and inner door had to be broken down with a timber jack.
