BATHING SHEDS FOR ESPLANADE.
Much inconvenience to swimmers at the pool adjacent to tho camping sito at tho is caused by tho lack of accommodation in the way of bathing sheds, and to bring about an improvement in the conditions at this very popular summer playground, the Mayoress has approached tho Royal Life-saving Society and the Manawatu Swimming Centre, with the result that a committee has been set up and a campaign to gather funds for providing dressing sheds launched. The first effort to collect funds will be held on Saturday with a street stall and street day. An energetic committee has been formed, and it is hoped the city’s response will be a generous one. In to-day s issue an appeal is liiude for donations 01 cakes fruit, vegetables, etc., and these may be left at the depot, A.M.P. Building, Broadway.
