Mrs G. \V. Lawuaon, or t\ oodville, entered a private hospital at Palmerston iNorvli to-uay to undergo a slight operation. Miss JJ. Signal has been visiting her sister, Mrs T. E. Johnston, Huamati.
the close ot the Methodist Church service at Woodlands Road, on Sunday, Rev Mr Knowles-Smith made reference to the loss shortly to be sustained in the Sunday School teaching staff by the marriage and departure to Wellington on Miss Evelyn Morgan, assuring tier that her fellowteachers and scholars wished her every happiness. On behalf of the Sunday School little Miss Oliver presented Miss Morgan with a c-haste framed etching of a Dutch scene. At a special meeting of the committee of the Woodville Horticultural Society on Thursday evening it was decided to abandon this year’s show. The Woodville Angling Club held a fly competition on the Manawatu River recently and somo large bags were caught, tho average for the eight competitors being about nine fish. The following wero the number of fish caught: I. Cullen, 20; E. Pritchard, 14; F. Rlachford,. 10; F. Ebbett, 9; R. Lawrence, 6; W. Millar, 4; J. Oliver 2.
