PIGEON RACING.

On November 19 the Alanawatu Homing Pigeon Club held a flock race from Christchurch, but the weather conditions were far from ideal, a severe storm being encountered about 50 miles from Christchurch, with the result that only one bird arrived home on the day, although several arrived the next day. It was very pleasing to members that the bird to home, on the day belonged to junior members, Alessrs Storey and Christensen, and these two boys are to be congratulated on the very fine performance of their bird. The club also held a race from Three Kings Islands, the birds being liberated from the overseas vessel Wanganella, which was bound for Sydney. No birds arrived home in race time, but Messrs Meadows and Alarshall received birds later.
