AUSTRALIAN BATSMEN.

DISCUSSED BY MR P. F. WARNER. Mr P. F. Warner, writing in the London Daily Telegraph of the younger Australian batsmen, of whom he expects a number of left-handers to go to England, says that Bromley potentially is possibly the best of the lefthanders.

“He played Larwood well,” says Mr Warner, “getting up on his toes to meet a rising ball- He lacks something in steadiness, but he is full of cricket and is also a magnificent fieldsman, causing Hammond at Brisbane to complain; that he had stopped all his best strokes.” Mr Warner thinks that Fingleton is one of the best off-side fieldsmen he has ever seen.
