STATUS RELINQUISHED.

NEWFOUNDLAND ASSENT. • ST. JOHN’S (Newfoundland), Nov. 29. The Legislative Council to-night unanimously passed a resolution from the Lower Chamber approving of the Royal Commission’s recommendation for relinquishing the rights of a Dominion and submitting to government by a Commission until the island is again self-supporting. A message will be despatched to His Majesty asking that "the Commission’s recommendations be is understood that the United Kingdom Parliament will adjust the island’s financial difficulties without delay.
