COCKATOO ATTACKS THIEF.
A thief ■ who entered the premises of Mrs Minnie E. Leonard, hairdresser, Essendon, Melbourne, on a recent morning was attacked by a pet cockatoo. The bird was not hurt, but blood found on the floor indicated that the thief had suffered a severe bite. The thief eventually entered the shop, and stole £ll from a casli-box and a handbag containing £4 10s.
