NAPIER WOOL SALES

OPENING THIS AFTERNOON. FORECAST OF MARKET. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Dec. 1. Widespread interest in the afternoon’s wool sale was evidenced by the crowd of country folk in the streets of Napier this morning. In past seasons it has been considered that the Napier sale values may be reckoned to show* an advance from of Id to 11 d on Auckland rates duo to the better quality of the Hawke’s Bay clip, but the brokers emphasise that the clip offered at Auckland on Monday showed a big improvement in quality on previous seasons and the general opinion now appears to be that the values at this afternoon’s sale may be expected to be from parity to )d better than Auckland. The brokers emphasise, however, that any accurate attempt at a forecast is well-nigh impossible until the first catalogue is disposed of. THE LONDON SALES. FINER SORTS DEMANDED. NEW ZEALAND PRICES.
