(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Nov. 30.
In the Methodist schoolroom, a hymn competition was conducted for both A and B grade (learners) and resulted: A grade, Mr D. Knewstubs. B grade, M. Spicer 1, V. Band 2. Special prize for tone, Mr Spicer tied with L. Knewstubs. At the conclusion medals generously donated by Mr E. Christensen, of Oroua Downs, were presented. Mr* I. W. Mudford, who underwent an operation at thb Palmerston North Hospital on Wednesday, is progressing satisfactorily. A match for the Nye Ferns resulted:— Holders: Eruera, Newth, Hinds, Thomson (skip) 23. Challengers: G. Walls, A. Walls, Robinson, Trueman (skip) 11,
