RIVER FATALITY
SCHOOL BOY DROWNED. Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 30. A local high school boy, Normart Morris, aged 16, son of Mr Robert Morris, a farmer, of Piriaka, got into difficulties while bathing in a pool in the AVanganui River at 1.30 p.m. today. His companion, Roy AVackrow, and a young man, Mr AV." Woodmass, made a determined effort to save him, but he grabbed them and they were compelled to free themselves. He then sank in nine feet of water. AVoodmass and a high school teacher, Dir E. St. John, who was called to the scene, dived and brought the body ashore. Artificial respiratiop was tried under medical supervision for over half an hour, but without success.
