CYCLING RECORD.
CHRISTCHURCH TO DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Nov. 30. Riding under favourable conditions, L. G. Fleming, a well-known Canterbury cyclist, completed the long journey from Christchurch to Dunedin in excellent time to-day, breaking the previous record by about 30 minutes. He left Christchurch at 4.5 a.m., reached Geraldine 4 hours 48 minutes later, and arrived in Dunedin before sunset. He was given a reception by a number of cyclists. , The previous record was held by W. L. Oldman, Oxford, Canterbury, who rode the distance of 243 miles in 14hrs. 2min. 51sec. in January. 1911.
