Australia’s exports to France in 1932 were worth £7,000,000, whereas France’s exports to Australia were only worth £1,200,000. The treaty may enable France to counter the Japanese silk invasion of Australia and give an advantage to Australian wool, fruit and frozen meat in the French markets.
