BUSINESS GIRLS’ CLUB AND OPTIMISTS’ CLUB DANCE.

There was a large attendance at the dance held by the Business Girls’ Club and the Optimists’ Club last evening in the All Saints’ hall. The room was prettily decorated in the colours of the two clubs and the Retailers’ Queen (Miss Edna Boon) in whose honour the dance was held to further her candidature in the, Queen Carnival. Music for the dance was supplied by by Mr I. Speight. The committee responsible for the arrangements were Misses R. Carmont, R. Collins and H. Lang and Optimists T. Twigge, L. Peters, L. Doy, K. Burne and W. J. Young. Optimists Twigge and Young also carried out the duties of M.C.’s. During the evening Miss Boon was to those present and was accorded an ovation. A “broom dance” competition was won by Optimist S. Martin and Miss M. Cadle won a competition that was held.
