WOOL SALE PRICES. COMPETITION CONTINUES STRONG. SURVEY OF RETURNS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 27, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 26. At the wool sales 12,292 hales were offered, including 1795 from New Zealand, and about 7511 were sold. There was strong European and Continental competition and prices were fully maintained. Quotations are as follow:—Merinos, greasy, Queensland, 18d; South Australia, 23d. Scoured.—Queensland, 27jd. New Zealand sales included the following: Slipe, halfbred lambs, branded CMC Eclipse and Challenge, top price 16id, average 14jjd. SALES AT SYDNEY. TREND FAVOURS SELLERS. SYDNEY, Sept. 26. At the wool sales to-day, 12,544 bales were offered, of which 11,016 were sold at auction, 1149 being sold privately. The market was on a par with yesterday for all descriptions, while the trend of prices for freer Merino wools and crossbreds was in sellers’ favour. Greasy Merino made 23d for thirteen bales from Crookwell. '
