FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
COURT MANAAVATU. The fortnightly meeting of Court Uanawatu, A.O.F. was held on Monday evening, when C.R. Bro. Lord presided. Several brothers from visiting courts were present. The AVoodwards reported that at present a good deal of sickness was prevalent amongst the members, several having declared on the funds since last meeting, but they were making satisfactory progress towards recovery. P.C.R. Bro Burns, being the only nomination, was declared elected as delegate to represent the court at the triennial meeting to be held in this city at the beginning of next year, when it is also hoped to celebrate the centenary anniversary of the Order. In view of the circumstances surrounding the choosing of a nominee who would be supported by the Friendly Societies at the ca.rnival, the court decided to take no action and in doing so members will be given a free hand to support a queen of their own choice. It was decided to attend the next meeting of Court Hinemoa for the discussion of Christmas tree arrangements. At the conclusion of business supper was partaken of and a. very enjoyable game of bowls was played.
