IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL. Received September 22, 9.50 a.m. CALCUTTA, Sept. 21. The flags of 54 nations, as a symbol of her world leadership, encircled the bier at the cremation with Hindu rites of the remains of the theosophist, Airs Annie Besant. Over 20,000 walked in procession, chanting a funeral dirge. All religious were represented.
