The arrival of the German freighter Norburg, flying the swastika flag, gave rise to an anti-German demonstration in Toulon. A. large crowd assembled at the quay, . and shouted abusive remarks concerning the flag. The police dispersed the crowd. The municipal authorities subsequently pointed out that the swastika emblem had been recognised by the French Government.
