WORK AT WANGANUI. THE MORNING’S GALLOPS. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 19. A fairly heavy shower in the early morning made the track on the dead side for the gallops this morning. Midinette sprinted half a mile by herself in 49sec. Impasto and Spiral were companions over a fivo-furlong spin. The former began better, but the pair were together at the end in 1.2 4-5. Campanero beat Rust by two lengths over five furlongs , run in 1.3. Haivora and .Linoleum ran six furlongs together in 1.194. King’s Knave shaped bettor than D’Artagnan over six furlongs in 1.21. Icier ran throe furlongs in 1.2 3-5. After breakfast Slippery went a couple of rounds at half pace. Palm Queen beat Quietly over six fur longs in 1.16 with L. Dulieu in the saddle. Etiquette covered half a mile comfortably in 54sec. Copper King finished in front of Auctioneer after half a mile run in 52sec. Great Emblem sprinted six furlongs in 1.184. Arastar and Cape Fair went seven furlongs together, the former being three quarters of a length in front, the time being 1.294. Red Manfred, from a galloping start, went half a mile in 48 l-ssec. Speedmint went a couple of rounds at half pace. Curie had "the pace on at the seven furlong peg and ran the distance in 1.28 1-5. Pin Money boat Gay Blonde over three furlongs in 28sec. Capita! shaped better than Morbury over half a mile in 504 sec. Tavern Knight and Cherry King did a good working gallop over seven furlongs. Midian and Sir Pombal were companions in a five furlong spin. The latter had a break on Midian at the start, but the pair were together at the end in 1.14. Leith beat Contract over three furlongs run in 39sec. Brambletorn, • Passion Fruit, Aube and several others were given pace work. Knollmere (L. Dulieu) jumped three hurdles fairly well.
