FLOGGING FOR'EUROPEAN.

Two hundred marines and two howitzers have entrained for Bechuanaland as an escort to Admiral E. R. G. R. Evans, who is on' his way to investigate the flogging of a European by order of a Native Court. The European, Pliineas Mclntosh, was charged with immorality against natives.
Chief Tshekedi ’ informed Europeans after the trial that Mclntosh, lijis brother and another ’were repeatedly before him oil similar charges. An inquiry on Wednesday at Palapye Road revealed the departure of tho sailors responsible for -.lie wild rumours.
Admiral' Evans, who formerly commanded the Australian Squadron, was recently appointed to the command of the African station.
