AUSTRALIANS WIN. PLAY IN BRITAIN. LONDON. Sept. 2. The Australian League team defeated Hull Kingston Rovers hv 20 points to nil. The attendance was 9000. i Although Australia officially led by j only 3 to nil at half-time, three tries were disallowed to the utter astonish- ’ meat of the crowd, and a twenty-five' drop-out was ordered each time. '
The visitors played strong, virile football, and crossed the Rovers’ line four times in the first half-hour. The Rovers’ tackling was relentless, and the Australians were given few chances to show their speed.
