RESPONSE TO APPEAL. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 6. Interrupting the auctioneer who was about to begin a forced sale on Thursday of stock and implements, the owner, a farmer, appealed to thoso attending the sale in the North Canterbury district not to bid against him, but to" allow the articles to come back. “The sale has been forced on me,” he said. “I ought to be allowed to buy in again.” •' The crowd of nearly 200 was sympathetic and refused to bid. As a result, the sale was abandoned.
