PURCHASE OF WHEAT.
BOARD MAKES EXPLANATION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Mav 5. Referring to a statement made at a meeting ot the Chamber of Commerce last night that some mills were not allowed to buy wheat in unrestricted quantities, the Wheat Produce. Board has issued a statement that the question raised is at present the subject of negotiation, and it would, therefore, bo most improper for the board to make any comment until the negotiations are completed. The parties will meet at Wellington next week.
