SWIMMING
TERRACE END CARNIVAL. What promises to bo one of the outstanding- swimming events of tho year is schodiiled for Thursday evoning, when the Terrace End Swimming Club stages its annual carnival in the Terrace End Baths. Tho entries received are very numerous. L. Smith (Feilding), Now Zealand 220yds breaststroke champion, Miss JP. Sporle (Feilding), Manawatu ladies’ champion and ex-New Zealand champion, have nominated. Besides these the other members of tho Manawatu team which went to Invercargill, and tho best MaliaWatu swimmers are swimming-. Altogether a galaxy of talent has been gathered and Terrace End residents and citizens generally would bo unwise to miss this chance of seeing these first-class exponents of the natatorial art Mr E.
