UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS

REPORT OF INVESTIGATIONS.

SUMMARY TO BE PUBLISHED,

(By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 17.

At the request of Cabinet, Messrs A. E. Ansell and S. G. Smith, M.P.’s, have investigated the problem of unemployment of youths with the object of suggesting steps for its alleviation. Both members remained in Wellington after the session completing their report, which has been before Cabinet. It was decided to ask Mr Ansell to prepare a comprehensive summary of the report and the recommendations for publication, as the proposals involve close co-operation by local organisations already handling the problem, and the knowledge on the part of the public generally of the prevailing conditions will also assist in carrying out the proposals. It is also hoped that the report will be a usoful guide to parents of scholars now leaving school.
