SHOP MANAGER ATTACKED.
INCIDENT AT EKETAHUNA. Per Press Associatio.n EKET-ffIUNA, Dec. 15. While the annual school dance was In progress last night, Mr C. Mcbaughlan, manager of Yates’s Cash 3t o rls in Main Street; returned to the shop, which was well lighted in front He went into a back room to procure a window curtain and was about to turn the electric light on when he was struck by a burglar with a sharp instrument,' receiving a big gash on the head. He was unconscious for some time and then gained tYe street, bleeding profusely. He received medical attention, and was taken home.
