VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. MELBOURNE, Dec. 8. In the men’s singles at the Victorian tennis championship tournament today H. JJopman beat J. Van Ryn, 6—3 6—3. 5—7, 6—o; H. Vines beat A. Guist (South Australia), 6—2, 6—4, 3_lo B—6; J. Crawford beat K. Gledhill ’ 6—4, 7—5, I—6, 3—C, 11—9 ; Sproule beat McGrath, 13—11, 6—S, 6—2, 3—6, 6—o. In the women’s singles Miss N. Hall (New South Wales) beat Mrs Van Ryn, 4_6, 6—l, 7—5. In the women’s doubles Airs Van Ryn and Miss Anthony beat Miss Wriglev and Miss Lewis, 6—2, 6 —4. ‘H. Vines and K. Gledhill continued their match with B. Tonkin and J. Purcell (Victoria), winning 4—6, 6—B, 12—10, 7—5. -
