CALF CLUBS.

GROUP SIX JUDGING. Judging in the calf club competitions of the Manawatu-Oroua division of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs was continued yesterday, Group 6, comprising the Kakariki, Oliakea Clydesdale, Sanson, Carnarvon and Waitohi Schools being adjudicated upon. The judges were Messrs J. O’Donnell (Bunnythorpe, dairy type), and J. H. Mason (Feilding, care and attention in rearing). The judges complimented the “exhibitors at all the schools for the manner in which they had brought their calves forward, the condition ancf preparation of the animals for judging being described by the judges as excellent.

All the above calves are eligible to compete at the group championship which will be decided at the Sanson School on Tuesday, December 13, at 1 p.m. GROUP RECORDS. Yesterday afternoon the record championships of No. 1 Group of the Boys’ and Girls’ Calf Club were decided, the following being the results from the schools in the group: Longburn.—Bruce Wilson 1, H. Bennett 2, Betty Wilson and J. France, equal, 3. Kairanga.—G. Hyde 1, E. Teague 2, M. Sheerin 3. Bainesse. —Joan Legg 1, J. Fitzgerald 2, D. Tennant 3. In connection with the above competition the winners of the group prizes presented by the Wellington central executive of the Farmers’ Union are as under:—G. Hyde (Kairanga School) 1, Bruce Wilson (Longburn) 2, H. Bennett (Longbum) 3.
