STUDENTS’ SOCIAL.
TECHNICAL SCHOOL. Senior pupils of the Palmerston North Technical School held a social and dance in the Orange Hall last evening to mark tho termination of I the school year. The prefects’ comj mittee who controlled the function j were Misses Rowntree, T. Holmes, Al. ■ Baillie and E. Adams, and Messrs D. Mitchell, B. AVhitehouse and J. [Beattie. An attractive programme, [ which was warmly appreciated, was submitted as follows: —Misses G. AVhitehead and L. Perrin, guitar duet; Miss J. Christian, dance; Miss MacGibbon, song; Miss J. Rowntree, recitation; Air J. Beattie, guitar solo; Air W. AA’oodroofe, violin solo. Air D. Alitchcll, who was acting in the capacity of AI.C., took the opportunity, on behalf of the assembled pupils, of extending seasonal greetings to Air G. G. Hancox and the members of the staff'. Air Hancox suitably responded on behalf of the staff, and complimented the committee on their energy in organising the evening. He mentioned that it was hoped the school would possess a hall of its own for similar functions in the ensuing year.
