AID OF CHILDREN’S HOME

DANCE, SONG AND STORY,

A most enjoyable concert programme was presented by the pupils of Miss Eldrotl, assisted by pianoforte pupils of Miss Rawlins and dancing pupils of Miss J. Heyward, of Feilding, in All Saints’ Parish Hall, last evening, in aid of the Children’s Homo. The programme was of a lengthy and diversified nature and proved to be of outstanding merit, the numbers having been most happily chosen. Included in tho items were playettes wherein the actors wero word perfect, humorous and character recitations, monologues, I musical items and dances, the standard attained by tho performers reflecting 'credit upon their teachers. | The programme was entered upon with tho presentation of a pianoforte I solo which was followed by the playetto ! |entitled “Tho Birthday Party, where-' in the guests brought gifts and con- j tributed items. At the conclusion of I the programme, Rev. Canon Wood-1 ward was asked to accept tho gifts on behalf of tho inmates of the Home. In thanking the donors for their kindly thought, Canon Woodward took the opportunity to express the thanks !of the committee of the Homo to Miss Eldred and to all who had assisted towards furnishing them with such an enjoyable evening. Miss Eklred was also presented with several floral tokens. Mr G. Bettle carried .out the duties of stage manager very satisfactorily, and Mr C, W.
