BUNNYTHORPE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, Dec. 7. The friends of Mrs Robron, of Robert’s Line, will regret to hear that she has been taken to a private hospital in order to undergo an operation. Tho annual meeting of the Bunnythorpe Athletio Sports Club will take place at an early date, when the report and balahcesheet will be submitted and the election of officers tako place. The monthly meeting of the School C'ommitto took placo on Monday. Present:— Messrs A. O’Donnell (chairman), 0. Jackson, F. McKenzie, R. C. Powell and D. Heggie. The headmaster's report was received. It showed the number on the roll as 91, with an average attendance of 87. Correspondence was received from tho Wanganui Education Board regarding the school vacation. Tho chairman reported on tho result of tho Calf Club judging. After a general talk on the advisability of holding a Parents’ Day and the annual breaking-up day at the same time, it was decided to hold tho function as one on the 15th, and the headmaster (Mr Abraham) and the staff will make a special effort on that day. It was also decided to present the children with prizes and to hold a sports gathering on tho Recreation Ground in the afternoon. Mr Cheetham offered to convey the calves to Ashhufst on Monday when tho group judging will take place. The headmaster reported that Air E. H. Lange had visited the school and judged the garden plots. Air J. Linklater, M.P., it was stated, has arranged to attend the Parents’ Day and present the prizes in tho afternoon. The visiting committee’s report was received. It showed that the were in good order. Air R. C. Powell was appointed committeeman for the holidays. General arrangements were made for the Parents’ Day and accounts passed for payment. It was decided to hold a special meeting on Alondav.
Tho following will represent the Bunnythorpe Tennis Club on Saturday against Woocivilla on tho local courts: Alisses W. and E. Robson, AI. Godfrey, Airs Greig, Airs Jackson, Alessrs G. Duthie, H. Robson, L. Duthie, W. Sutherland and R. Clark. Airs L. Lassen again had her dwelling broken into at the week-end. during the flight. Air G. Lassen, having been disturbed, got up and tho intruder made his escape without getting anything. Tho grounds and tho orchard were searched, but the intruder got away. Tho friends of Airs Henderson will regret to hear that sho is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital.
